Titilayo shines at Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge

Notre Dame Catholic Girls' School is proud to announce that one of our own, Titilayo Taoreed, has made a significant mark at the Southwark Regional Final of Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge. This event is the largest public speaking programme in England, managed and delivered by the Speakers Trust, the UK's leading public speaking organisation.

The Jack Petchey Foundation supports the Speak Out Challenge, which aims to amplify the voices of young people by building their confidence, developing their skills, and creating platforms for them to share their stories and ideas. The programme empowers over 30,000 young people each year, offering free communication skills training to Year 10 students in every state school in London and Essex.

Titilayo delivered a compelling speech titled "The Age of Distraction," which earned her the Runner Up position at the Southwark Regional Final. This achievement is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and the exceptional communication skills she has developed through the programme.

Reflecting on her experience, Titilayo said:

I'm extremely excited. The audience was amazing, inspiring, and motivating. Public speaking isn't something I usually do, but I really enjoyed it.

We are incredibly proud of Titilayo's achievement and look forward to seeing her continue to grow and excel in her public speaking endeavours. Her success serves as an inspiration to all students at Notre Dame Catholic Girls' School, demonstrating the power of effective, positive communication in education, employability, and social change.
