International Women’s Day 2022

“Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”

A huge well done to all the girls from Gender Committee and other contributors from the Library Committee, Jack Petchey, Gospel Choir and year 11’s.

Firstly, the theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March, 2022 is, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, recognizing the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading the charge on climate change to build a more sustainable future for all.

Gender committee have been researching women and girls who are both effective and powerful leaders and change-makers for climate adaptation and mitigation. We learnt about some of these and heard poems inspired by them.

We also opened our brand new Gender Resource Library. ‘Gender Committee’ have invested in even more new titles for our beautiful Library, that smash stereotypes while covering subjects from a positive female perspective ranging across the following areas:

We have books on, Gender politics, Contemporary fiction, Classical fiction, Politics, Science, Fine Art, Contemporary music, New Man, Religion, Sexism, Feminism, Children's stories, Law, Power, Race, Immigration and Gaming.

We want Notre Dame Girls to learn about gender related issues and read about the many women that have made a difference. Maybe you will be one in the future!

So… Borrow – Read – Learn – Enjoy!

Let these books inspire you!
