Five Simple Ways

In our school community we believe there are essential ways of behaving that allow us all to thrive. This is known as the Five Simple Ways:

Students

Ensure your behaviour supports your own learning and the learning of others

Be kind and respectful to all people in the school

Wear your uniform correctly

Be a positive ambassador for the school when in the street or on the bus

Stay safe and keep other people safe

Staff

Ensure your behaviour supports your teaching and the learning of your students

Be kind and respectful to all people in the school

Ensure that your dress code is in keeping with your role

Be a positive ambassador for the school in everyday life

Stay safe and keep students safe

We are the adults in this community and as such we have to model good behaviour to students:

Stay safe and keep students safe

If we expect students to apologise when they have done something wrong, so should we

If we expect students not to make verbal comments about us, we should not make them about students

If we expect students to be polite, hold doors open for us, we should do the same for them

If we expect students not to shout at us, we should not shout at them

(Insert a little pic here of a winning cup)

Every half term a pupil is nominated by staff to be a Five Simple Ways Champion. This recognises their  excellent behaviour inside and outside of school. The winners so far have been:

Luana Gomes Semedo    10J

Sarah Pearson 9J

Each champion receives a badge of duty and a small gift.

(More information regarding Five Simple Ways can be found in our Behaviour Policy.)
